Mulazim Manch rally in Punjab
4 December 2011; Jalandhar: ASHA workers, Mid-day meal workers, casual and contract workers working in the forest department from Mulazim Manch, Punjab and Chandigarh rallied and assembled demanding their rights at Deshbhagat Yadgar hall on 4 December in Jalandhar. Com Germanjit Singh and Com Paramjit Kaur Mann said that the recent announcement by the Punjab government to give Rs 800 crores to their state government employees is a farce, more so when workers are not receiving their due wages. They said, Asha and mid-day meal workers should receive a minimum of Rs. 5200 per month as their monthly salary in accordance with Class IV government employees. The workers also raised their demand for regularisation of their work, free insurance for a sum of Rs 2 lakh and salary as per Class IV employees of the Sixth Pay Commission.
Other union leaders present were Com Bhagmal Rana, Harinder Dosanjh, Amarjit Kaur, Sukhdev Singh, Lakhvinder Kaur, Nachhtar Singh.
